Cheetahs
Cheetah Conservation in South Africa
Playing its part in cheetah conservation, African Game Lodge is most proud of its efforts in promoting this program. African Game Lodge guests have a unique opportunity to spend time with and get to know the habits of one of Africa’s most revered and endangered creatures. Two of them, a male and a female adult, named Khulu (Great) and Thanda (Beloved) respectively, live within a specially constructed cheetah enclosure.
You’ll be able to observe their movements during the day and, if you so wish, can watch them being fed in the mornings. This is truly a unique experience not to be missed!
Duma (Thunder),a young male and his lady friends Vukela(wild) and Thula (quiet /peaceful) can be interacted with in a secure enclosure, under supervision. They are extremely comfortable amongst humans – However,we are ever mindful that they are still wild animals and therefore demand our utmost respect.
Our Latest addition to the conservationis Shaka, named after the great African Warrior Shaka Zulu. He is an absolute pleasure to interact with and his playful boyish charm endures him to all that are privileged to meet him.
This experience will hopefully open ones mind to the beauty of cheetahs and get the public involved in helping to conserve the cheetah species.
After your stay at African Game Lodge, you will have the opportunity of being updated on our Cheetahs’ progress and well being via this web site.
